Snake-Lizard/Crash

One of the things I wanted to achieve in my thesis was world-building through image. In this piece, I depicted both a pivotal event in the story--the crash of a human ship on the planet Viridis--and the local flora and fauna. I wanted the alien life on the planet to be both familiar, and strange to us. I also liked the idea of the crash being incidental in this piece, a lá Landscape with the Fall of Icarus by Pieter Bruegel the Elder
